Walk into the room and the bed is not the first thing you see. The wall is. The Luminosa's headboard runs wall-height and wider than the frame beneath it, so it stops behaving like furniture and starts behaving like architecture - and then, at the touch of a remote, a television rises out of the footboard, holds for as long as you want it, and disappears again.
The lift is motorised and remote-controlled, built for screens up to 55 inches and 40kg. Mechanism, power feed and cabling all run inside the frame, which is the only way a bed this composed stays composed: nothing bracketed to the plasterboard, nothing trailing across the floor, no stand in the corner competing with the headboard for attention.
A line of gold, and the light behind it
What separates the upholstered channels is not stitching. It is a brushed gold inlay running the full height of each seam, with warm LED light set behind it so the headboard glows down its verticals rather than being lit from a lamp beside it. Turn the room lights off and the bed keeps a low, warm outline; turn them on and the gold reads as a drawn line.
There is an Italian habit of using a single line of metal to separate two soft planes - you see it on Milanese cabinetry and in the hotel lobbies off the Via Montenapoleone - and it does something adjectives cannot: it gives the eye somewhere to stop. The panels themselves are built and upholstered one at a time in our Liversedge workshop, then trimmed and aligned by hand, because a metal inlay shows every millimetre you get wrong.
The footboard is the opposite argument, deliberately: one clean squared volume in soft cream boucle, no channels, no trim, nothing to distract from the headboard behind it. Boucle is the texture that rewards touch rather than sight - a looped, nubby weave that reads as warmth in a pale room and hides the marks of daily use far better than a flat weave does. Underneath it is a hardwood frame, which matters more on a television bed than an ordinary one, because a moving mechanism puts load through the footboard every day of its life.
What makes the Luminosa work
- Wall-height headboard - runs taller and wider than the frame, so it finishes the wall rather than sitting against it
- Brushed gold inlay with integrated LED - warm light set behind each vertical seam, so the bed holds a low glow with the room lights off
- Motorised footboard TV lift - remote-controlled, for screens up to 55 inches and 40kg, fully concealed when down
- Boucle-upholstered footboard and base - a looped weave chosen for touch and for how forgivingly it wears
- Hardwood internal frame and concealed cabling - the structural and practical work that keeps a moving mechanism feeling solid and the room looking empty of wires
Choosing your fabric
The Luminosa is upholstered to order in any of our 15+ designer fabrics. Cream boucle is shown here and is the natural pairing for the gold, but the same headboard in a deep velvet is a completely different bed. Order a free fabric swatch first - on a headboard this size, fabric choice is not a detail, it is the whole room - and our materials page sets out what each weave is actually made of.
The questions people actually ask
- What size television fits? The lift takes screens up to 55 inches and 40kg. The television is not included - the mechanism, the mounting bracket and the internal cable routing are.
- How long does it take? Every Luminosa is made to order in Liversedge, so please allow 15-30 business days from order to delivery.
- Where do you deliver? Free delivery to mainland UK addresses (England, Wales and mainland Scotland), kerbside as standard. White Glove delivery to your room of choice is available as a paid upgrade at checkout.
- Will it fit my room? This is the one to measure twice. Check your ceiling height against the headboard, check the clearance above the footboard for the screen to rise, and remember the headboard is wider than the bed. Our size guide has the full run of UK dimensions.

Handmade to order, which is why we ask you to allow 2-3cm of variance across the range - the mark of a bed actually built by hand rather than stamped out.
If the Luminosa is close but not quite
The Aureo puts the same class of lift inside the headboard rather than the footboard and asks far less of your ceiling height, and both sit in the wider television bed collection. If you like the scale but not the gold, the Luxe and Eleganza collections carry tall headboards in the same fabric range, and the ottoman gas-lift beds are the place to start if storage is the real problem. A headboard this size is worth planning into a room rather than adding to one - our bedroom renovation guide covers the order to do things in.
Order your swatches, choose your fabric, and we will start cutting. If you would rather spread the cost, payment options are available at checkout.

Made to Order
Your bed is built for you after you place your order, so please allow 15–30 business days from order confirmation. We confirm your order within 24 hours, send a dispatch notification with tracking, and call you to book your delivery appointment.
Where We Deliver
We deliver to England, Wales and mainland Scotland. We are currently unable to deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands & Islands, the Channel Islands or international addresses. If that’s you, email sales@belsognobeds.co.uk and we’ll look into what’s possible. The price you see at checkout is the final price to your door — no hidden charges.
Free Kerbside Delivery
Standard delivery is free across mainland UK and is a kerbside / ground-floor service (to your door). We’ll arrange a convenient 2-hour delivery window — morning (8am–12pm) or afternoon (1pm–5pm), with Saturday slots available — and on the day you’ll get your delivery team’s details and a 30-minute advance notice call.
White Glove Delivery & Assembly (Optional Upgrade)
Because a premium upholstered bed is heavy, we offer an optional White Glove upgrade you can add at checkout. Choose it and our team will:
- Carry your bed to the room of your choice, including upper floors
- Assemble it fully — built, checked and tested by our delivery team
- Remove all packaging — cardboard and wrapping taken away and disposed of responsibly
Before We Arrive
Please measure your doorways, staircases and corridors (we’re happy to advise on dimensions), clear the delivery path, and make sure someone aged 18+ is home during the window.
If Something Goes Wrong
If we can’t complete a delivery, we’ll contact you straight away to reschedule and store your bed safely for up to 14 days at no charge. In the unlikely event of transit damage, tell the delivery team and we’ll arrange a repair or replacement.
Old Bed Removal
We can responsibly dispose of your old mattress and bed frame for a small additional fee — just email sales@belsognobeds.co.uk when you place your order.
